Great minds and their relation to the divine

In today’s western, modern society, the term cultivation is used only in the field of plant breeding. But that has not always been the case. It used to be desirable to be a cultivated person. But what exactly does that mean? Cultivation means perfection and is inextricably linked with moral values and the belief in a higher power. Many artists and scholars of the past, who are still appreciated all over the world today, had a connection to the divine and drew their strength and inspiration from it. I will introduce some of these famous personalities here and briefly explain their faith and their striving for self-improvement.

Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

Franz Joseph Haydn
